Play equipment for Horndean recreation ground

THE parish council at Horndean in Hampshire would like to install fitness / play equipment at a sports recreation field where football is otherwise played.

The equipment identified is appropriate for older children and, because it includes outdoor fitness machines such as rowers, even for adults.

The applicant points out that there is a shortage of facilities for children and young people in Horndean and believes this equipment will encourage more families to exercise together. It is estimated that between 10,000 and 15,000 people will use the facilities. Installation will take place between April and September 2010.
