Sports hall conversion at South Godstone

SOUTH Godstone Sports & Community Association aims to make available community premises for the use of various sports and village clubs. This project involves installation of a suspended ceiling in what is currently purely a sports hall, so allowing it to be used for a wide range of social functions.

The technique proposed is a fairly simple one involving pulleys which raise and lower lightweight aluminium beams. Panels would then be laid across the beams, with side wall drapes suspended from the perimeter wires.

The facility is the only community building in South Godstone and needs to be more versatile in order to attract bookings for functions. The current sports hall is regarded as too “hollow sounding” and bland.
